AA #1005 The Legal Basis of Student Management – Revised 2024

Participants will understand the meaning of fair and equitable treatment of students in the “eyes of the law,” be able to develop fair and clearly understandable student management policies and rules, gain knowledge in specific areas of student management law, and assess their school’s student management policies and practices in terms of compliance with the law. Specific topics to be included are discipline (on and off campus), search and seizure, student First Amendment rights, and due process. Participants are required to bring their Student Management Policy/Procedures Manual for discussion.
