Presenter Biography

Ranell Blue is an accomplished educator with 17 years of classroom experience. She teaches seventh and eighth grade science at Harvard Junior High School. A leader in her school, she serves on her district’s PERA, SIP, and PLC committees. During this time she has worked with the State of Illinois developing a new science curriculum aligned to the New Illinois Learning Standards in Science and has also served on the Illinois Science Assessment Steering Committee. She also writes and works on revisions for a national curriculum company. For the last five years, Ranell has been the grant administrator for her district’s I-STEM grant, impacting over 3500 students through NGSS teacher training. She has spent several years conducting professional development for the implementation of NGSS for school districts, spends her summers teaching STEM camps for middle school students, and will be judging science projects through NSTA.
