Presenter Biography

Rida Ellis served as a K-2 teacher in Decatur Public Schools District 61 for 10 years. Three of those years were spent as an instructional coach in a K-6 technology magnet school where she supported the roll out of 1:1 technology (iPads, MacBooks, and Chromebooks), Guided Reading, Guided Math, Kindergarten Readiness summer programming and mentoring new teachers. Ms. Ellis has a B.S. in Elementary Education from Millikin University and a M.S. in Elementary Education from Eastern Illinois University. She currently is working with many teachers in the area on integration of Morning Tubs, Social Emotional Learning skills, Guided Reading and Mindfulness and Self-Care in and out of the classroom.
