Presenter Biography
Experienced (taught 41 years as English secondary teacher) and qualified (presented at numerous conferences and workshops), Tom Anstett served as teacher, department chairman, tutor, basketball coach, and leader. He has presented ELA workshops for the last six years such as Succeeding with the Socratic Seminar, Close Reading, Collaborative Group Learning, Who’s Doing the Discussing?, and Differentiated Instruction. A published author in 2017, Tom’s book, Stop Whining; Start Winning, promotes instructional strategies and skills for teachers across disciplines and tips for coaches. He is also a dual-inductee (player and coach) into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame.
