Presenter Biography

Sue Mainville has worked for the state of Illinois through Illinois State University’s Center for Educational Initiatives since 2011 as a content specialist in Assessment. She has presented at state and national conferences and worked with districts to adopt and support their transition to Standards-based Reporting (SBR). Her SBR experience includes creating an Illinois Standards-based Report Card template, a Standards-based Reporting website and she has classroom experience with a Standards-based Reporting system. She has also done a great deal of work supporting the development of Priority Standards and Proficiency Scales as well as Formative Assessment Strategies with schools and districts.

Prior to working through ISU she was in Rockford Public Schools as the Elementary Math Coordinator, a district content support specialist and a classroom teacher. As the Elementary Math Coordinator she supported mathematics in the classrooms of K – 5 educators throughout the district. She worked with teachers in their classrooms as well as provided district and building level presentations. Her extensive classroom experience gives her an advantage when working with teachers on the topic of assessment as well as mathematics instruction.
