Presenter Biography

Miriam Ojaghi’s tenure teaching middle school ELA, social studies, and Pre-Algebra, was followed by a position as university instructor for General Education, pre-service teaching, and educational methods courses. Additionally, she has served as an ACT tutor, and coordinator of after school supplemental educational services programming. Dr. Ojaghi completed her doctorate in Leadership in Curriculum and Instruction at Aurora University, where her research examined the experience of underrepresented minority students studying STEM who learned Koru Mindfulness. A certified Koru Mindfulness instructor, her research interests include social and emotional learning, mindfulness and meditation in the classroom, and social and restorative justice practices.
