Presenter Biography

Krystal Clifton is a National Board Certified Teacher who has experience teaching grades 3-6. She is Montessori certified and spent 12 years teaching in a public Montessori magnet school. This experience helped her to gain a wealth of knowledge and skills related to student engagement and differentiation. She also has experience as an instructional coach. She has worked with teachers of all levels in classrooms to achieve school and district goals. Through multiple years of working with the ISBE MRSP grant, Mrs. Clifton has extensive knowledge of the Next Generation Science Standards as well as instructional strategies that will apply to any subject area. She has presented professional development around the state related to these areas. She also is gifted certified and has spent 5 years teaching in a gifted classroom. Mrs. Clifton is passionate about creating engaging lessons and making class work relevant to students. She recently presented at the Illinois Reading Conference about student engagement.
