Presenter Biography

Brad Marcy has been the History Department Chair at LeRoy High School since 2011. He served in the Army as a Military Policeman from 1999-2006. Upon returning from Iraq in 2005, Brad enrolled at Illinois State University where he completed his undergraduate course work in History Education in 2009. He attained a Master’s Degree in History from ISU in 2017. In addition to his teaching duties, Brad served as a Civic Education Mentor for the State of Illinois from 2015-2017 and has been a ROE#17 professional development provider for the Social Studies since 2015. Brad has a passion for sharing and discussing innovative instructional approaches to teaching the Social Studies with his fellow teachers. Brad lives in LeRoy with his wife Ashlie, who is also the LeRoy School District Media-Specialist and a certified Social Studies teacher, and their 3 year old and 6 year old daughters.
