AA #1414 – Communicating with Staff Regarding Performance Assessments (and the words to Lower an Evaluation!)

December 11 @ 8:30 am - 3:30 pm

$200

This course takes proven ideas from research and weaves them into practical applications that guide administrators when communicating difficult messages to staff regarding their performance. Participants will learn how to proactively develop an essential foundation of trust, respect, and confidentiality in their buildings. Strategic research and tools will be presented to help administrators predict and deal with others’ difficult behavior, especially when they are under stress. Multiple opportunities will be provided to practice using listening and questioning strategies when confronting others or when resolving conflicts. In addition, administrators will analyze a difficult situation that they wish to change and develop a confrontation and action plan to help resolve the problem behavior. Strategies will also be provided for dealing with staff that refuses to improve their poor performance. With these tools, participants will be able to have productive conversations regarding staff performance and deliver difficult messages with confidence and respect.
