AA#1414: Communicating with Staff Regarding Their Performance Assessments

“My rating has always been ‘excellent’ and now it’s basic.’ How do you effectively respond to a negative reaction from a staff member when they receive a lower performance rating than expected? This course takes proven ideas from research & weaves them into practical activities that provide administrators with the tools needed to successfully consider educational equity & communicate with others in difficult situations.
*learn how to proactively develop a climate of inclusively that promotes feelings of trust, respect, & confidentiality
*learn how to predict & deal with others’ difficult behavior.
Multiple opportunities will be provided throughout the course for participants to practice using various questioning & listening strategies to resolve conflict & to prepare for confrontations. Strategies will be provided to address subordinates who refuse to improve their performance. With these tools, administrators will feel more confident when delivering difficult messages, as well as responding to negative reactions from staff members.
This Academy will be held online with a Zoom link sent to each participant approximately one week prior.
