AA #3814 Learning from Leadership: How Leaders Learn to Get Better at Getting Better
October 26 @ 8:30 am - 3:30 pm$225.00
JFK once said that leadership and learning are indispensable to each other. Leaders do not learn to lead from textbooks, they learn to lead from engaging in the performance of leadership. If leveraged properly, the performance of leadership can serve as a rich and robust source of learning. A question all leaders should be asking is how do I take advantage of my day to day leadership experiences to improve my performance as a leader.
In this course, participants will 1) Learn the benefits of using Donaldson’s Interpersonal-Cognitive-Intrapersonal (ICI) Framework to identify knowledge gaps in the leadership challenges they confront, 2) Identify the challenges in their leadership lives that could result in potent learning if properly addressed 3) Construct a leadership learning plan based on the ICI Framework and driven by the leader’s actual leadership experience and real-life challenges. This Illinois Administrator Academy is based on the work of Gordon Donaldson.
